How Maths 2 English Tuition collects, uses and protects personal information about parents, guardians and students.

Last updated: 4 October 2026

Maths 2 English Tuition ("we", "us") provides live online group tuition and homeschooling for children in KS2, KS3 and GCSE/IGCSE. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We are the controller of this information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Who we are

Maths2English Academy Ltd (company number 15170921, registered in England and Wales). Email [email protected] or call +44 7728 957969 with any question about your information.

The information we collect

When you contact us or register interest

Your name, your child's name, your email address and phone number, your child's key stage and subjects, and anything you write in your message.

When you enrol

Your name, email address, phone number and billing address, the login you create, the classes you choose, and the history of your subscription and payments. Card payments are handled by our payment provider: we never see or store your full card number.

When your child takes part in classes

The name and profile shown on our learning platform, the classes your child belongs to, posts and messages in class pages, attendance, homework, assessment and exam results, and the progress updates we share with you. Lessons take place on Zoom, where your child's name is shown to the teacher and class. Lessons are only recorded when requested, and recordings are shared only with the class.

When you use this website

Technical information such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit, kept in our server and security logs to keep the site working and safe.

How we use it and why

  • To provide lessons and run your account: placing your child in classes, sharing lesson links, tracking attendance and homework, and keeping you updated on progress. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To take payments every 4 weeks and send receipts and account emails. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To answer your questions when you contact us. This is in our legitimate interests, and yours.
  • To keep children and the site safe: moderating class pages and messages, and protecting accounts from misuse. This is in our legitimate interests and, where safeguarding requires it, a legal obligation.
  • To keep financial records as UK tax law requires. This is a legal obligation.
  • To understand which of our adverts and links work, using the campaign cookies described below. This is in our legitimate interests.

We only send marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Children's information

Our classes are for children, but accounts are opened and paid for by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over. We collect only the information about children that we need to teach them, teachers see only what they need for their classes, and we never use children's information for marketing.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

  • our teachers, for the classes they teach;
  • service providers who help us run the school: website hosting, our card payment provider, Zoom for live lessons, and email delivery. They may only use the information to provide their service to us;
  • authorities such as the police or local safeguarding teams, where the law requires it or a child's safety is at risk.

International transfers

Some of our providers, such as Zoom and our payment provider, may process information outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards approved under UK law, such as an adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

We keep account and class records while your child is enrolled, and afterwards only for as long as we need them for the purposes above. Payment and financial records are kept for six years, as UK tax law requires. Enquiries that do not lead to enrolment are deleted once they are no longer needed.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies set by this website:

  • Essential cookies keep you logged in, remember your basket at checkout and protect the site. The site cannot work without them.
  • Campaign cookies (sky_utm_session and sky360_gads_session) record which link or advert brought you to our site, so we know which ones work.

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but blocking essential cookies will stop you logging in.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Keeping it secure

We protect your information with encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, and secure, password-protected accounts. Please keep your login and your child's Zoom links private.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will tell you about any important changes by email.
